Frippery, formals, finery and feathers. What have a trilby, a fez and a pill box all got in common?

They could all be seen in your work place on 9th December 2011 is the answer!

"Wear a Hat Day" is part of Age UK Exeter's winter appeal to help older people in the city. Hundreds of vulnerable older people will suffer needlessly this winter from the effects of cold weather and Age UK Exeter want to make this time of year better for those who may otherwise have no where else to turn.

Help this local charity spread the warmth and become a Wear a Hat Team Leader in your workplace or school for the day. For more information go to the Wear A Hat Day website or phone Age UK Exeter on 01392 202092.

Corinne Bailey, Development Manager at Age UK Exeter said - we want to really make a difference to the most vulnerable people in the city this winter. We have a Home Check Hit Squad ready and able to offer advice and support to help older people in the city. Remember how cold it was last year? We want to ensure anyone who needs some support gets the information and practical services they need. For every £5 raised we can provide an advisor who can help an older person stay warm and well.

If you're worried about someone in your neighbourhood or family member, please, with their permission give us a ring and tell us about them. All the money we raise stays locally; as an Exeter charity it is important to let people know that their money really is making a difference in their City.

Visit the Wear A Hat Day website to download posters to put up at work and for a registration form so that we can tell the whole of Exeter how fantastic you are for joining in!
