Growing Old Disgracefully

Age UK Exeter are proud to present a bumper evening of entertainment!

On Wednesday 30th of November, Devon’s best performance poets give their take on growing older. Hosted by joint Bards of Exeter: the hilarious writer/performer Jackie Juno, and the renowned “storyfella” Clive Pigg, along with Tim King, Winner of the Exeter Poetry Slam 2011. Also performing on the night will be Morwenna Griffiths, Ian Royce, James Turner, Jennie Osbourne and Graham Burchell. Entry is free, but the evening will be held in support of Age UK Exeter, a local charity working to improve later life for people in Exeter. To enjoy this feast of poetic delights, please join us at The City Gate Hotel, on the Iron Bridge, Exeter on Wednesday 30th of November at 8pm. What better way to spend a Winter’s evening than being entertained in a welcoming city centre location, it would be a disgrace to miss it!

Jacqui Cornish, fundraising officer said “We are truly privileged to have secured such a fabulous line up of top quality performers. This will be a night to remember!

  1. Growing old disgracefully - ah there's the rub. Coud I, a 74 year old, dance naked in the street, or fly the broomstick my youngest child wishes me to ride, my grey hair flying. Too embarrassing for onlookers; no, I will pen word-whispers and throw colours to the wind, and be glad to still be alive, and working. My love to all. XXX
